WE are looking for young women in CALDERDALE aged 14-25 to take part in WEEKLY workshops leading to performances in halifax this july

REVIVING HER is our new dance-theatre show exploring the challenges young women face in being seen, heard and living in a patriarchal society. As a Key Commission for Calderdale’s Year of Culture 2024 (CultureDale), we’re running a project in dance, theatre and spoken word for young women in Calderdale, aged 14-25.

The REVIVING US group meet weekly, in term time after school, working together towards a series of performances in July for CultureDale 2024. This will be a brilliant opportunity to work with a professional dance company, meet others, develop performance and creative skills, and gain a performance opportunity. SOME DANCE EXPERIENCE PREFERABLE BUT NOT COMPULSORY

• 17 Creative sessions in contemporary dance, movement and choreography, physical theatre, script development and spoken word

• 4 performances at Square Chapel in Halifax

Dates

Workshops running every Thursday in term time, 6pm - 7.30pm, from now until 18 July 2024.

Performances on Thursday 25th, Friday 26th, Saturday 27th, Sunday 28th July 2024.

YOU MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR ALL PERFORMANCE DATES, WITH GOOD COMMITMENT OVER THE WORKSHOPS
