Northern Rascals are looking for a project-based Access and Inclusion Officer to support their latest project, SHED. SHED is an outdoor interdisciplinary performance & installation that raises awareness of the issues young people face with mental health. The performance narrates these struggles, & the installation displays stories of support young people have received from their families & communities & the help that is available.

The Access and Inclusion Officer will support Northern Rascals by providing creative and practical advice on how to incorporate access and inclusion into SHED, ensuring that it can be enjoyed by audiences regardless of ability, circumstance, or background.

Details of the Role

Contract Type: Self-Employed/Freelance

Fee: £800 (you will be responsible for paying your own tax and National Insurance)

Hours: Negotiable. Northern Rascals envision the planned work taking approx. 4 days spread out over the project timeline

Key Dates and Locations of the Project:

  • Wc 2nd May 2022 – Rehearsals at the Middle Floor, Leeds, LS2 7EQ

  • Wc 9th May 2022 – Rehearsals at the Middle Floor

  • Wc 6th June 2022 – Rehearsals at the Middle Floor

  • Wc 13th June 2022 – Rehearsals at the Middle Floor

  • Thurs 16th June 2022 – End of Project Sharing at the Middle Floor

  • 20th June-8th July 2022 – Evaluation Period

While the contract will only be for this phase of SHED, Northern Rascals are committed to supporting the people they collaborate with and often work with them on future projects.

  • a C.V.

  • &

  • either (a) a cover letter no longer than 2 sides of A4 or (b) a video or voice note no longer than 5mins that details how you best fit the role description and the person specification 

    These should be sent to Northern Rascals at northernrascals@gmail.com by 5pm, Mon 11th April 2022. Please also let them know of any access requirements you might have. 

From these, they will shortlist applicants to invite to interview. If you are invited to interview, they will notify you no later than Mon 18th April. If you have not heard from them by this point, you will not have been shortlisted.

  • Time: Will be agreed with the shortlisted applicants
